What do you see in the future for Sam Raimi? Or what would you like to see?

Tobey Maguire said recently that he wouldn't be appearing in any more Spider-Man movies after the third one, while Raimi indicated that he might be interested in doing more movies, but only if Maguire stars in them.

But, at the moment, and after the inevitable huge success of Spider-Man 3, Sam Raimi will be pretty much in the same position in his career that Peter Jackson was in after making the LOTR trilogy; he could basically make anything he wants.

So would you still want to see him make another Spider-Man, with or without Tobey, or should he changes direction?

He is said to be a strong candidate to direct The Hobbitt... which would be quite interesting of course. But that movie will probably get a worthy director even without Raimi, so I dunno if I'd prefer to have him direct that... but then again, if not that then what? Sam Raimis career outside of the Evil Dead trilogy was a bit uneven and bouncy before he made Spider-Man, he didn't seem to have a clear direction. Hmm actually I think I'll make another topic now about his movies...

I would like to see him reach into more genres. He's done horror, horror/comedy, crime-drama, and action/adventure/blockbuster. Perhaps... musical? Very Happy

I'd like to see Carnage be brought into the Spiderman films, if there is one after number 3.

Especially seeings as the symbiote has been brought in.

But as for Spiderman 4 as a whole?

I'm not sure.

I'll have to make that judgement after I see number 3.

As for other movies, another Evil Dead would certainly cream my jeans.

I'd like to see him scrap Toby Maguire as Spiderman, but thats unlikely. An Evil Dead movie would be awesome.

It's weird how he's made three Spider-Man films in a row, and they weren't even shot back to back like the LOTR trilogy. As much as I like Spidey, I want him to try something different next.

I'd like to see him make The Hobbit. He's probably the closest thing to Peter Jackson we're going to get. His career followed pretty much the exact same trajectory, in that he began making low budget splatter films, made some middle of the road films and then started directing big budget franchise stuff. He could do it, I'm sure. Just keep Sir Ian and Andy Serkis to maintain some form of continuity.

Dude, I don't think I'm going to see Spider-Man 3... looks pretty lame.

Something besides Spider-Man. Preferably a return to grittier horror.

Something, anything with Bruce Campbell as a main character.

He's been nothing more than a cameo character in recent movie history.

Hell, if Raimi makes more Spiderman movies make Bruce a villian. Like Mysterio or something.

BUBBA HO-TEP!

And, alright, yeah, besides that he has mostly done cameo roles, shitty Sci Fi Channel telemovies, and deodorant commercials. But still.... Bubba Ho-Tep is a contemporary horror-comedy masterpiece. If you have not seen it, remedy that situation immediately.

Campbell would make a really good Mysterio!

I agree, although he may be a little too manly for Mysterio.

Carnage would be a neato skeeto beastie to be brought to screen, but if Tobey Maguire isn't going to do another Spidey flick, I wouldn't bother if I were Raimi. That's a personal thing though; while better Spideys are probably out there, and apparently more willing, I hate when main characters are juggled back and forth from actor to actor, al la Batman. Also if Raimi made a 5th Spiderman movie, he'd be pretty much obliged to make a fifth for it to be a proper series. Either that or make a trilogy and have done with it; a four-part series is barely a series, and it's not a trilogy. It's a quadrigy. Just silly.

I wouldn't be out-and-out AGAINST him directing The Hobbit, not so long as he keeps around Sir Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis, at the very least. I just think there could be better options for the direction slot. If he did do it though, I'd be watching the news like a hawk, making sure he did a decent enough job.
